How does Mustang Cash work?

Mustang Cash is a cashless, prepaid spending account on your Mount Ida One Card that is accepted on and around the Mount Ida College campus. You must add value to your account before using Mustang Cash to make purchases. You must have sufficient value available in your Mustang Cash account to pay for each transaction. Each time you use your Mustang Cash account, the amount of the transaction will be deducted from your account. You may not spend more value than you have. Unused balances roll over semester to semester and year to year.

What's the difference between my Meal Plan and Mustang Cash?

Both accounts are accessed by your Mount Ida One Card. All residential students are required to participate in a Meal Plan. Payment is made at the beginning of each semester along with tuition and other fees. Mustang Cash is a prepaid spending account that is accepted at campus dining locations, campus bookstore, Public Safety and select copy machines. It is designed to eliminate the need to carry cash or other cards around campus. Mustang Cash is also welcomed at popular local businesses. You or your parents must add value to Mustang Cash before using it for purchases. Value in Mustang Cash rolls over from semester to semester and from year to year. When is value added to Mustang Cash available?

Funds transferred by debit/credit card and cash are available instantly.  Check deposits are available on the business day received. If a check is returned to us by your financial institution for insufficient funds, the deposit will be reversed from your Mustang Cash account and a Returned Payment/Check fee will be assessed.  If the Returned Payment/Check fee creates a negative balance in your account, you will be contacted to make another payment to the account.
